Cold Cave
A show full of darkwave sounds and minimalistic beats. The opener, Vowws, set the mood with an austere performance. This was followed by one of the most interesting projects in independent music today: ADULT. (check out their full coverage), a band that lives at the intersection of art and music. Their beautiful dark sounds set the stage for the main act: COLD CAVE, whose gloomy sound took the audience on a voyage of melancholic elation with a sonic rush. It was nice to see Anthony Anzaldo, from the iconic hardcore band Ceremony, on stage performing the guitar duties.
A great evening, with only its main element missing: A performance by Psychic TV, which would’ve been the perfect transition between ADULT. and Cold Wave. Their appearance was canceled due to the ongoing illness of industry icon Genesis P-Orridge, co-founder of the seminal band Throbbing Gristle. We are rooting for h/er full recovery.
